The Delphi Premium Sound System features an advanced acoustic and integrated systems design where every element is designed to work in harmony with the others, efficiently and simply. General Information

The owner's manual cautions against getting the unit too close to credit cards. Are there any other problem areas with the speaker magnets?

You should not leave the unit mounted on top of or beside CRT based TVs, computer monitors, or other such displays as the strong speaker magnets may
cause distortion or potentially damage the display.

Are there any other cautions for use around the home?

Do not leave the unit sitting directly on freshly polished fine furniture. Marking from the mounting feet has been reported.
We have been unable to duplicate the problem, but it is better to err on the side of caution.

What is the THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) of the system?

This number is rather meaningless for a digital radio system such as Satellite Radio. However, the Delphi Premium Sound System would be in the range of 2-3% at 15 Watts if it were an analog system.

How much power do the speakers output?

Maximum power output from the speakers is 20 Watts.

What is the output of the AC Adaptor?

18.0 VDC, 2.0 Amps.

Can I use Rechargeable NiMH batteries in the Delphi Premium Sound System?

Yes, this should not be a problem.

My Delphi Premium Sound System doesn't seem to be as loud on batteries as it is on AC power, is it faulty?

No, the Delphi Premium Sound System output is limited in battery mode to extend battery life. There may also be a difference depending upon which model Receiver is docked in the unit due to differing output levels from the Receivers.

How long will a set of batteries last in the Delphi Premium Sound System?

Battery life depends on a number of variables, see below. Tests with alkaline cells have indicated 6-8 hours of life when the Delphi Premium Sound System was played at approx 1/3rd volume.

The type of battery chemistry, alkaline cells will last longer than carbon cells.
How loud the system is being played.
Temperature.
Battery condition – One weak cell will limit the effectiveness of the others.
Which Receiver is being used.

Can I use Lithium Ion batteries in the Delphi Premium Sound System?

No, typically Lithium cells are a higher voltage than typical "C" cells. Trying to use lithium batteries would damage the unit.

What happens if I forget and leave the "Battery Switch" on while using the AC Adaptor?

The batteries will be drained of charge when you try to power from batteries the next time.

What XM Receivers will mate to the Premium Sound System?

At this time, the Premium Sound System will mate with: Delphi SKYFi3, Delphi RoadyXT, Delphi MyFi, and Audiovox Xpress XMCK10. Adaptors for other XM Receivers and audio devices may be offered in the future, please visit http://www.shopdelphi.com regularly for updated offerings.
